To use the new MapiMailer plugin, you need to select the photos you wish to send in the email and then select File > Export from the Lightroom menu. To select the MapiMailer plugin, you need to click on the banner at the top of the dialog, and choose MapiMailer from the menu.

Shown below is my export dialog with all the MapiMailer options displayed. You just need to make your customizations, and then click the export button to begin processing your images.

As the images are being prepared for the email, you'll see the status if the export in at the top left of the Lightroom window.

When all of the images have been prepared, then depending on the number of images you selected, there will be a pause while your Windows default email program is creating a new blank email with the photos attached. You should then see your email, ready to complete and send. Here is what I see when it invokes my default email program, Outlook 2007

Export Presets
Instead of having to adjust the parameters each time you send an email, you can use export presets to save and reuse common settings. For instance, I send very tiny photos to my mom because she still uses a dialup connection to get to the internet, so I have a preset for that.
To create a preset that uses the MapiMailer plugin
- Click on the banner at the top of the export dialog and select MapiMailer from the menu.
- Adjust the parameters to the values you want saved in your preset.
- Click on the Add button under the Presets list at the left center of the Export dialog. This will display the New Preset dialog.
- Enter a unique name for this preset and press OK.
Now anytime you want to email photos with the MapiMailer plugin using those settings, just select that preset before exporting.
